Week of December 13th

Ok.. This week is going to be a little bit different becuase(is that how you spell it? I cant remember how to spell anymore haha) I dont have any CRAZY cool stories but there were a few really cool things that happened.
First, I got to confirm that little boy, Nicolas. :) He was so excited and happy to get confirmed. I am going to be honest though... I was so freaking nervous. It was my first confirmation and it was in front of the whole ward. But the lord it so amazing and has been helping me because as I started to talk I just went and gave him a blessing and didnt even really think about what I was saying. So the lord was really on my side on that one. I think that is cool becuase I had to do it, the blessing in TU form and as missionaries we only talk in USTED form.... So I didnt really know how to talk in TU form but my comp said I talked perfect. Wierd? nope becuase the lord will help us always if we have done everything to prepare to recieve his help and are worthy of it. :)
Second, for christmas we, as missionaries got together and did a christmas party kind of thing on wednesday which was really cool I loved it. It kinda made me feel a little trunky though. I loved it because we got to listen to christmas music and just have a little fun for a little bit it was nice :)
This is a very sad thing right now... There is this guy in our ward, his name is brother Alvaro. He is in the bishopric and is such a kind and loving guy! To everyone!!! But we were talking to him and he told that he has a brain tumor.... He has 2 little kids and a wife and only his wife knows. He doesnt know what to do because the hospitals here suck to say the most. So he can have surgery and risk becoming a veg his whole life or take pills or something and hope that it gets rid of it. He is so scared though... I almost started crying.... He is such a good guy and the thing he said right after he told us is he is so glad for the plan of salvation because he knows he will see his family again but he is still scared. He has such unwavering faith... It was amazing to see. So please... Everyone... Pray for Alvaro. I love this man and he needs our prays...

Ok, This is going to be the different part of ¨my week¨ This is going to be where I am going to talk about some of the ¨interesting¨ things here in chile :)
So number one thing that is freaking wierd haha Everytime we go to a house and a younger girl opens the door we greet them but they always come in with a kiss. The thing that is wierd is usually they dont do that unless it is people they know and they dont do it if we stiff arm them either but there are always those girls who do it. AH it is so annoying haha we went to this house yesterday and literally we were five feet from the door barely in hand reach and she walked 3 or 4 feet through a stiff arm and us telling her we dont greet with kiss to kiss us..... annoying? kinda.. I never in a million years thought I would be getting kisses on my mission.. hahahaha
Number two thing that is a little strange. They men here walk around with man purses!!! HAHAHA It is a fanny pack and they always walk around with it. I am freaking going to get one they are so cool haha I will take a picture and show you how alot of them walk around with them But I am so excited to get one now ;)
Well those are the two for this week. :) Hope you enjoyed some of the fun facts of chile :)

Here's what happened on Thanksgiving Week!

Ok... Here we go...

First off this week was pretty normal. Dont get me wrong there was a lot of spiritual things that happened, but for the most part it was pretty regular. First thing that was cool that happened. Elder pulver and I went out contacting, we originally had wanted to go by a members house to recieve a refferal but they were not home, this was at like 3:45. ¡Que fome! So since we had nothing else to do till like five we went and did some door knocking. So I have to give a little bit of background history on chileans... They LOVE to get into other peoples business. Not even kidding. This is what they do, when you go to houses to see if someone is home, someone who lives 5 houses over and in dark corner yells ¨No one is home!!¨ Seriously! They dont even know if that is true they just say it. Well at least they say it to us. ALL THE TIME!! Elder pulver hates it haha because sometimes the people are sitting right outside thier house eating food or doing something haha or they came out earlier and said just a sec, go back into the house. People just love to tell you to leave. And usually those are the super catholics or evangelico´s haha so they just yell if you come over to talk to them. So as we were doing doors this happened to us haha Elder pulver looked at this lady across the street and just mumbled something under his breath. I was laughing and had this weird feeling like I should go talk to her because I know that she is home haha so I did. Come to find out, she is an inactive and incomplete family. It was cool because we are going to go back, reactivate and baptize the rest of them. Really cool haha

Second story, as we were going home from lunch one day we decided to take a different route than usual. It was completely different! As we were walking trying to get back home for our 45 min siesta we turn down another random street. When we get about half way down this street we hear this loud knocking sound. Elder pulver turns to me and says what was that? I had no idea so we look around and as we do we see this old lady in her house waving at us to come to her. We were a little sceptical but went over asking what she needed. She just said come in, please come in. As we entered the house and sat down she said that she is a member of our church. She was unable to go though because she is stuck to a chair and is very sick all the time. She said she hasnt gone for 4 years... As we kept talking to her we found out she has been waiting at that window every day for who knows how long waiting for the missionaries to pass by so she could share with them. So she could feel that spirit once more. Like it was in church. She had been waiting for us.... It was amazing, she had the sweetest spirit I have ever felt. She said I dont want to keep you because I know you have lots of work but could you share something real short for me please. We looked at each other, elder pulver and I and said of course. we would love to. As we were about to get ready to start elder pulver said actually could we sing a himno for you? She said actually I was hoping we could. She said please sing himno number 15. She already had it picked out and everything. It was praise to the man. We pulled out our himno´s and started singing and you could feel the spirit so very strong. I cant even explain it. She didnt know all of it but closed her eyes and was humming and singing the parts she knew the whole time. Elder pulver and I both were almost in tears... It was amazing. When we finished she looked up at us and said thank you so much. We are going back to see her this week and next week we are bringing the sacrament to her. Her name is Ines. She is like 76 years old. She is still a faithful member of the church too!

Third thing, and probably one of the narliest things I had seen this week.
We were walking from a short visit with a referance and as we were going down the street we see these 4-5 dogs just all in a pack. Now, remember that there are hundreds of dogs everywhere in chile! Tons! Not even kidding haha its stupid. but we see these dogs and all of a sudden elder pulver starts whispering dog fight, dog fight, dog fight. No joke 3 seconds after he said that 3 big dogs and a smaller dog start attacking the local corner dog. They are going at it full on, one at the neck and two on the body. ripping the hair out and bitting the neck shoving it to the ground. Ok, now I also want to point out this is on a courner by the street. Tons of cars are driving by but have to stop when this thing starts because they go into the road kinda. It just so happens that these dogs are fighting right next to a school van filled with little kids. The bus driver seeing this is probably thinking, Stupid dogs... I dont want the kids to see these dogs kill each other. So the driver starts to drive off. As he was driving off the dogs pushed the corner dog to the ground. As the corner dog was moving around trying to get up his body went right under the van. Right as the bus driver was pulling away. THE DOG GOT RAN OVER BY THE BUS/VAN!!! While getting attacked by 3 big dogs and a little one. After he got ran over he got up and started fighting again! Siliva is flying everywhere!!! Dust and hair is still floating in the air and this is when it gets funny haha the whole time this is happening the pervo old man on the corner where the dog always is, is flipping out haha swearing up a storm! As the fight is going on he goes inside and grabs a huge plank of wood he could barely carry haha he comes out after the bus leaves and after the fight a little longer trying to swing this board and just swearing at these dogs like nobodies business. hahahahahaha the dogs stopped when he came out yelling though. And the corner dog was still calling them on after the fight. And after they ran off. hahahaha so elder pulver and I look at each other and cant help but kinda laugh. We start walking away and he told me that, that was the craziest dog fight he has ever seen here. He said I have seen some pretty crazy dog fights too! haha It was crazy!

Well that was my week :) Hope you liked it. Tune in next week for another adventure in the life of.... Elder Brown!

My Week

Ok, So this week was really cool for almost half of this week I was down in concepcion doing a capacitation with the mission president. It was so fun!! I learned so much. The crazy thing is, when we were in the mtc they taught us something new. Like teaching wise. It was a new way that they started to teach and want the missionaries to teach from now on... BUT, when we got out here, they taught us a brand new way of teaching again. haha So it is definitely cool haha we are really having to learn alot. They call it the 8 simplified lessons and it is so cool and works really well. We ask for them to comit to baptism the first time that we meet them haha well most of the time. Unless we feel like we shouldnt we always ask. Definitely bold and definitely new and different. But so far it has been working. I have been surprised at how well it has worked actually haha So though it has been working and though we have been doing all that we can, the work is really slow and tough in our sector. We have investigators and all, but they just are not progressing really fast. they are having a really hard time and it is very discouraging at times. I know though that everything will turn out ok. I am not sad or anything... well I am because  I want our people to get baptized so bad but I know that in time it will happen. I am not worried about that. So I just have to be patient and realize that the lord works on a time zone of his own and there is nothing I can do about it. haha it sucks but I am able to learn more from this. haha
This week as I was in conce I was going out doing contacts in this place called, Chiguayante. This place is, well interesting. It was nuts during the quake. That is all I have to say. but when I was there I got paired up with elder teske. He is also a very new missionary. we both have only a month here. But we go out and start talking to people. We teach a lesson to the first lady we meet. Right there infront of her store. Really cool. Then we go in this little compound thing, start knocking going door to door. And door after door was slammend in our face. They just didnt want anything to do with us. Then the last door before we had to go meet up with our comps for the week was when something interesting happened. We knocked on this door and this older lady opened it and was really nice actually. We explained who we were and she said she had talked with missionaries before and when we asked her if we could talk to her she was all but willing to let us in. We go in and started talking and teaching her the ¨vision¨ which simply is explaining the atonement and jesus and then invite to baptism. As we did this we found out that she was catholic. When we started talking about baptism she told us that she was already baptised in our church. Now, we hear this alot. So most of the time we ask questions that if they really havent been baptized they wouldnt know. She without us even asking was like yeah, I was baptized by immersion like jesus and had hands laid upon my head to receive the holy ghost. I know about joseph smith and all of that and I believe it, but I just dont go to your church anymore 1 because my husband dont like it.(great for us :) we can convert him) and 2 I think she said something like it is to far away. Which is always a big concern for chileans because they are so lazy haha but we started then saying hermana you need to go back to church. You know you made convenants and all that whenyou got baptized. She understood but was being stuborn like shut up I am not going to listen to you because I dont have to. Kinda a whatever attitude. We reached the point to if we kept talking it would be not good so I said hermana we need to leave but can we go with a pray kneeling down? She said yes and I said I want you to pray for us hermana. She looked at me a little confused but agreed to say it. I bowed my head, but right before she started I had a feeling to say something. I stopped her and looked her straight in the eyes and said, ¨hermana, during this prayer I want you to ask god, your heavenly father, what you need to do. What you need to do about your life and about the church you choose and form of worship.¨ She was a little taken back at this time but said ok I will. As she started to pray I and I am sure elder teske too was praying for a miracle. She started it and got a little bit in and then paused for a second. I was like YES!!!, she continued and right as she was asking our loving heavenly father what it is she needs to do she busted out in tears. She started crying and the spirit was SO strong! I knew what happened. Now listen, I love it when people cry because that is when we can work with them. That is when the real teaching began. She finally got control enough to ask and finish the prayer. When she ended we looked up at each other and with tears in her eyes she said she knew what she needed to do and she wanted us to come back as soon as possible. It was an amazing experience. Her name which sadly I forgot to tell you at the begining is margarita. she was so amazing. That was my amazing moment of the week though.
Ok I dont have very much time so I am just going to say that I love you all!!! I miss each of you very much! I will respond to your emails next week. Sorry today has been nuts! I love you. I will talk to you soon.
Love,
Elder Brown

HALO!!

¡¡HALO!!

Hey hey everyone! How are all of you doing? I figured that this would be alot easier to do than to write each of you individually. I have written letters for each of you but I cant send them all at once because that is going to be alot haha it is like 500 peso each so I will send them over time and I have to write other people too. BUT I have written them. I was wondering why I hadnt heard from all of you for a while I was actually really sad as well. But hey, YOU CAN EMAIL ME TOO! I think what I am going to do I write a big email with my week in it and them section it off for each of you ok?¿ cool beans! ;) haha and then you can write me back or whatever you wanna do. Ok? Oh and if you have something you dont want to talk about with everyone and you just want it between us I will send you a seperate email. haha I am just a nice guy like that sometimes. ;) just kidding.

MY WEEK,

Well in the land of Chile this week I had a lot of interesting experiences. Tuesday- well tuesday was a very interesting day to say the least haha we did a mini cambio. Elder pulver went to a different area named piduco. He went with an elder by the name of elder kaykandul haha he is the trainer of elder teske who came to my sector. Wow!! Two brand new gringo´s going out into the world of chile. We were like two little infants. Our parents abandoned us for the day and just said go and have fun. I WAS SO SCARED!! I understood about half of what was going on. haha The crazy thing is, is we had TONS to do that day too. It was a really critical day here in the life of a missionary. first what we had to do was go and visit one of our investigators and teach her about the word of wisdom again and invite her to leave smoking. It was interesting but she said she would do it and has been trying so that was fun. Then we went out and did some street contacting. It was hard and we didnt really get into any houses but we got a few references, so that was good. After we did that we went to a lesson Elder Pulver had set up the week previous. I was really nervous for this one because I didnt know these people and they didnt know really anything about the church and we had to tell them about the vision and baptism and invite them to be baptized. The crappy thing though was we went there and talked to the lady and she didnt want to talk because she said she had verguenza which is like shame or embarrasment because her house is messy but that is just chilean for I am to lazy right now so I dont wanna talk. It was dumb. So we left her house and went to a menos activo. I dont really know how else to say that. Like an inactive member I guess. yeah haha that is it. But her name is Marina and she loves us(missionaries) she calls us her angels haha but we talked with her and she wanted to have a noche de hogar with us which is a famliy home evening so we set that up and then after we shared a brief message we left to go to our next appointment. This was with this lady call Ines. She was an investigator but doesnt want to follow some of the commandments so, yeah. haha but we went by her and wanted to share a message but she got up and started getting ready for something and I thought she said she was making us once. which is like the dinner here but she wasnt. haha so we sat there and waited and then she left and we didnt even get to teach!! ¡¡Que Fome!! But anyways after her we went to luis and loreto´s house and had to teach them about the law of chastity and let them know that they cannot get baptized the 14 because they are not married. It sucked because the day before we had a bomb noche de hogar with them. Oh and what made it worse was when we got there they were all like we consider you guys family. Oh it sucked. But we talked about family and why it is important to god and why we need to keep it specail and that stuff. They understood it but Loreto started to cry and Luis was almost there too! I felt horrible, but I had to let them know and the thing that makes me sad is that they want baptism SO badly. They are willing to do anything and everything to get it. But they dont wanna rush their marraige because it is a big thing and luis wants it to be big and way good! So yeah, I will talk more about that latter :) after them we left and went to Marcia´s. At her house we put on the movie finding faith in christ. we watched that and by the time it was over we were late to get home. So we bore our testimonies on the movie and left. WHAT A DAY!!! Oh and that whole day we invited everyone to church and the noche de hogar with the ward.
Wednesday- So this day I got my comp back and we started the day by going to this man named alberto but he wasnt home and, well pretty much no one was home. untill like seven. It was insane!! So at seven we went to see how veronica was and share with her. After that at 8:00 we went to Luis and Loreto´s house. I was so nervouse. When we got there they let us in and we started talking. We talked a little bit about the law of chastity and their concerns with what they had to do before baptism. You could tell they understood but were frustrated about it. We learned some new things and then we left. we went to Marcia´s next and just talked with her. She it seems like she is not making anymore progress and it really bites.
Thursday- ok This day was kinda just a regular day so I am not going to bore you with to many details but it was effective to say the least.
Friday- This day rocked!!! What we did was our weekly planning in the morning and that went untill lunch which is always at 1:30 so after lunch and our siesta we went out into the world I cannot understand completely. It was fun. haha we went and visited some members and new converts and also the people in our boom boom room. Who are our progressing investigators. Then some other people and did some contacts as well. It was good and then at 8:00 we had our Noche De Hogar with the ward. We showed up a little early to set up and we waited. Around 8:15 we had maybe 8 people. Haha then around 8:30 we had maybe 15 and we were a little upset so we just started and shared a little about the book of mormon and then around 8:45 like 10- 12 people showed up.(just like a chilean, lets arive late to everything.) Stupid. haha but it was really fun. We played some really fun games and had a blast. Everyone loved it. I have pictures and video I will send you one day so be excited.
Saturday- ok this day was cool. After lunch and all of that we are going out to go see Veronica and we had previously decided we wanted to talk about the word of wisdom. As we were walking over there elder pulver looks and me and says ¨elder brown, Do you think we should talk about the atonement today with veronica?¨ I looked at him and was like sure why not. We get in there and talk about it. It went well and found out that she doesnt really have the desire to smoke. It seems also like she is lacking faith and doesnt believe she can. So that was good. After them we headed for loreto and luis. On the way over we both looked and each other and said we should share the atonement with them too. I cant tell you how badly they needed it.!!! I was amazed at how much it helped ease there concerns and troubles. but of course the savior is the only one who can do that! It was cool and as we were talking loreto brought up something we had never heard before. She says, ¨I havent told you or even luis this but a few nights after you came and talked to us and told us we needed to be married I had a dream that I was talking to my family and out of no where came a voice that said I didnt need a big wedding.¨ HA!!! Is what I said. She didnt know if it was an answer or what it was really. She asked us and elder pulver didnt want to be like well duh! Haha so he said it in a way that is pretty obvious that is was an answer and then we gave them lehi´s dream to read and hopefully that works and she realizes hey yeah it was haha. We are going by there today so we will see what happens. :)
Sunday- Ok the only things that was different about sunday was that I saw my first Passed out, Drunk, Chilean, on the side of the road under a tree hahahahahahaha. SO FUNNY!!! I wanted a picture but elder pulver said hey he wont be your last so take one when not as many people are around. Oh and the funny thing was, is later that day I saw another one!! Haha it was cool! But this one was even better because he had a bad bladder. If you understand. But the spiritual thing is that we had 4 investigators show up to church! SO COOL!!!!! I was really happy. So yeah that was my week. A pretty ordinary week but always way fun. :)

HELLO!!!!

The days here are not long enough. Ugh. haha but missionary life is really good. I think I amjust getting used to it and starting to really excel. I still have trouble just because of the language barier and stuff but besides that it is not bad. I am understanding alot more but it is still really hard. I get frustrated especially because I dont really get much time to study but oh well I can at least participate now haha so I like it. I still have a lot to learn and a long way to go though. So you wanna know what they think about americans huh!? well first off, they think that us (missionaries) are CIA agents! hahaha it is actually kinda hilarious. also they copy everything about america but say it is theres they thought simpsons was created here haha they are tolerent of us but they just think we are rich cops haha. Some people dont like us but that is how it is everywhere. It could just be because we are mormons too. The american news in on here and like what is happening in america gets shown here sometimes haha it is kinda funny. But yeah it is a great place. I love it except they are crazy drivers! Also how that missionary said that in america we have alot. It is true. I see people in shacks here! They are happier than 90% of most americans too! These people love each other!! I cant tell you how many times we walk by members and they stop everything they are doing just to talk to us. They go get us food, drinks, seats. It is pretty amazing actually. The men here almost all of them work out of city so they are gone for 3-4 weeks at times and then home for a few days. So family time is very precious and rare here. But they are so loving they sacrifice that for us. I am amazed by how good of a people they are. We have SO much in the states and we are not even grateful for half of it. I think back and realize how selfish I was. The give and give and give. They love feeding us to! It makes them feel good so they sacrifice meals for us. oh and I dont mean this bad but you know the kind of area you grew up in how it was ghetto? Well that is considered the nice section here. We are so blessed. Our zone meetings and district meetings are every week. well zone is every other week I think, maybe once a month. I have only had one haha. but they are cool we learn alot everytime. I have learned so much since I have been here. I will miss the holidays this year. no thanksgiving here but everyone of out lunches consists of that much food haha and between x mas and thanksgiving no there are no holidays. Oh the seasons are opposite too! So it is very very hot. except today and yesterday it was really rainy and cold haha not so rainy today but kinda cold.  So yeah there are alot of members here, but, they are not active. We have almost 1000 members in my sector but we dont even get more than like 30 people a week. its bad haha they are so lazy.  I know you worry about me but you know that I will be fine. I have the most powerful being in the world looking out for me. Walking by my side, every step of the way. Our father is looking after me mom. Also our brother. They are here to protect me when you cannot. I have no greater trust in anyone. I know that you know this is true too. you know that they will always be there to protect me. I know they are here and that they are there to protect you too. This is because they are our family. Family is the most important thing. :) Dont worry mom. Trust in the lord. I know you do.  Oh and I do have some people I would like you to pray for. Veronica, Maria, Marcia(PLEASE), and Loreto and Luis. Those are who we are working with right now and we really need help. They are so good. I just wish they would open up a little more so that the spirit could just grab their hearts. I  know that if that happened it would be an instant baptism. They all have fecha´s but still. We are having to work hard. I almost wondering if there is something I could be doing better. I just gotta be faithful and obedient though. Sorry my letter is not going to be very long. But that is the stuff I have to say. So right now I am going to tell you about my week.
This week was interesting. I went on my first cambio. haha First one was with another elder who got here when I did. We both suck at speaking but, we got into out 2nd door of contacting!!! It was awesome. We taught him the lesson and he was very smart. He already believed in what we believed! It was so freaking cool. He commited to come to church so I am curious to find out if he went because he is not in my sector. It was so cool. The lord was helping us so much. I was understanding completely and was able to speak too! When we left, both me and elder miller look at each other and say what just happened!? We couldnt believe how awesome it was. The best experience I have had here!! So cool! Then we went out to do more contacts at house´s and got 5 people to set up times to come back. ok here is the thing with that. usually only 1 in 3 are home. But we are hoping for all of them to be home haha they seemed fairly interested. Then the next day my trainer did a cambio with elders from san clemente. I had this missionary who had 2 months out come with me haha he thought he was so cool. He took senior comp status on himself even though I was technicaly because it was my area haha but I just let him think that. He loved to talk. I honestly dont think I got a word in. I tried but he would just jump in and go haha. It was interesting. But he is a good guy and a good missionary. I had a good experience with him. But yeah those are really the main things that stuck out to me this week. I loved it. I got mad because spanish is tough especially here where they speak it completely different haha but oh well with time all things are revealed.

Hello!!!!!

MOM, DAD, Others,

Ok, first off I thought I told you it was just a tremor. haha not an earthquake. So dont worry haha I know I have some friends haha Tell them all hi for me. Oh when you send that package tape pictures of the virgin marry on them! NOT KIDDING. it will keep people from messing with them. So yeah. oh could you send us bbq sauce and ranch. Oh and elder pulver wants a little message from you guys, just that says you love him ;) haha do it he will love it. Oh and you can send me some snacks like reese's and anything you find fun or something haha oh I am going to send you guys some thing too! It will be a combined package for you and tanner so you will just have to divy it up. I am glad that she is going to go to st george with you. that makes me really happy :) Mom the water down here is fine!!! It is just like our water. I have been here two weeks and I dont even feel a little sick. Everyone drinks out of the tap. Stop worrying. I am fine and can take care of myself haha I have been doing it for going on 2 years now haha. I love you though. thank you for being so concerned. I just want you to know that I appreciate it and love you for it. But you dont have to worry about me haha I am a man now ;) hahahahahaha and my mission pres and his wife and my trainer are really good also. thank you for your advice and I will probably seek more of it. just.... dont worry about me haha.
Alyssa is going to have so much fun at that dance. the one at utah state is was awesome! I loved it I hope she has fun. I would love to get some pictures! I am actually going to send you some right now. I hope you like them haha so guess what. I love halloween here more than in the states. ahah last night around 8:45 we were trying to go visit people but everyone was hanging with family and having parties so we couldnt do anything. so we went home stood outside our house and got about 35 GOOD contacts haha it was awesome. we handed out pass alongs and candy it was a double whammy! haha I loved it. I havent had that much fun before. Weird thing here is they listen to american music as much if not more than spanish music haha so I knew almost every song that was playing last night haha they kept asking what does that mean what does this phrase mean haha it is so funny. I love it haha Today we played some soccer :) So cool!! I loved and missed it. Oh about the food haha I only eat once a day because that is all I can eat. I get so full from lunch sometimes I just dont eat haha but I have been eating lately. Honestly mom they give you SO much food here. I dont think you understand haha. I love it though.
I am glad that everyone is doing well! Mia is just amazing at everything haha so that doesnt surprise me. Tony, good I am glad he is finally getting on his feet and doing well. And hopefully he does come back. I pray for that every night. I miss alyssa. I love me little sisters, but me and lyss were tight haha I miss mia too. Oh well I will see them in two years. Oh which reminds me haha stop counting down tard haha haha it just makes it go by slower, for both of us haha. But I will be honest, I am excited to get home and start my life. My comp and I talk alot about random things, movies, music, avatar, and girls of course. He said something that was interesting to me. He said he wants to get home and get married even if he has nothing because he wants to build his life and everything with his wife. It was interesting haha I think that is really cool. I cant explain how much I love my comp. We get along so well and he is just such a stud. We are both gonna hang after because he goes to utah state too! WOOOO haha so yeah I dont really know what to say, WAIT,ask mia if a coach mclurr works at the school. and if he does ask her to get his info because a elder Payden Hathaway who is a good friend of his wants to get in touch.
I am excited to see you costumes. haha it will be funny. I hope you all had a blast! I did haha so elder pulver is writing you hahahahaha He is so funny. so if you want to know anything, just ask. I dont really know what to write. There is just so much. I love the church and the people. I love being a missionary. Somedays it is very hard but I know that is just because the lord wants me to grow. So I would really like some decorations for x mas haha and what ever else you want to send. I know you have really good packages. Oh and if you want you and tanner could team up up on packages. it would be cheaper for you both and faster. It is up to you though. I just hope you keep in touch with her. It is weird how much your feelings grow when you are apart haha its interesting. Oh but I am focused. Everyday! I only really have time to think for myself at night and p days or during our siesta´s!!!! WE GET SIESTA'S!!! wooooo!!! It is because if we didnt we would get no work done. haha I love it a nice little 30-1 hour nape sometimes. depending on how fast lunch gets done. I love it haha.
Oh these pictures are cool the ones one the plane that white stuff is clouds, it was like that for hours haha cool huh also my house is there my area and my comp. cool cool oh and some random horses that were outside our house a few times haha

OH Buddy!!!!!!

Hey!

So wow.... Lots has happened this last week... I cant believe it. Tell kiera I love her and will pray for her everyday! I cant believe that though... That is so insane. I know everything will be ok though! I am glad you are keeping in touch with her and everything is going well in work with the girls and with tony. It is good to hear that. So, P-day is on monday. just so you know haha

CHILE, I LOVE IT HERE! I am being completely honest it is so freaking amazing here. I will send you pictures soon. Oh, this letter is going to be all over the place just so you know. First off, It takes 10 days about to get letters, assuming they dont get lost or stolen along the way(which has happened 2 to my companion) then it can take longer to get from the mission house to me. Everything gets sent to the mission home and then they distribute it out when we have conferences and stuff like that. This is because my companion and I are like 3 and 1/2 hours away about. haha so it can take a while. So after saying that it would be better if everyone in the family just emailed me. Oh and I have no requests for american things. I love the culture here and the people and just everything. It is different though because they are a very "loving" people. Especially in the parks and other public places haha it is so weird. besides that though I have recieved no culture shock. I just love it and get how they live. well for the most part. The only cruddy thing is, is when they feed you lunch(which is the BIG meal here) they expect you to eat everything! and when you are done they ask you if you want more and if you dont accept they can and sometimes do get offended. SO much food! I am not even kidding! I can eat like one meal a day and that is it. I cant fit anymore food in my stomach haha I love the food here though! IT is so much sweeter. and better especially the bread! but that will get you so fat so fast haha it is made from lard pretty much haha gross but SO good haha. I have never seen a more ghetto place in my life haha I was told it was pretty ghetto before the earth quake but now it is worse haha especially in my area TALCA. But hey, I LOVE IT! It is everything that I wanted haha. When I go in to my house we have this huge gate that we have to unlock and then we go in lock they gate and then we unlock the door and then lock it when we get in. haha Everyone has gates and huge locks and stuff like that walls with shards of glass cemented in on top, barbed wire haha Oh and another thing, I HATE DOGS!!!! I hate them now. I cant stand the little suckers! There are SO many dogs just running wild down here it is insane. They get in packs and will go fight or just do other stupid weird things. They even sometimes attack people, I havent really been attacked yet but I will be sometime haha they eat all of the garbage that is just everywhere and sleep where ever they can haha insane. this is because the peoploe get them when they are puppies and when they grow up they just get rid of them. I cant understand half of what they people say here haha oh well though. the people we are teaching are so so cool and I know what they say because I love them haha but I still need my trainer to help translate sometimes. haha My comp/trainer is Elder Pulver. He is from layton and he is such a stud! I love him so much and we get along great! He is very good with people. He reminds me alot of steven swenson but way different at the same time. I love him haha I already went through my first earth quake!!! IT WAS AWESOME! It was only like a 6 and only lasted for like 20 seconds but was still cool. It rocked the house. So my investigators are, Songel(20) with her little girl. She is proggressing so fast and I am excited for her! the there is loreto and her boy michael who I love and we are making good proggress with them as well. then maria and veronica their parents just got baptized and now we are working with them, their husbands are making it difficult though. then marcia, and her family. they are cool too! I have talked with them much though. and I think that is all the ones we are working with everyday. we have others but they just are not really proggressing which sucks. But soon enough. The ward is really nice and accepting. There are not that many people in the ward that come. Chileans are very lazy. it sucks haha so yeah I think that is all I can really think of that is going on. My district rocks, mission pres and his wife are nice, I didnt get much time with them but they are very kind and take care of us. I cant really think of anything else to write. There is just so much I could spend literally hours but I am trying to make it short.

Do me a favor... Tell tanner to just write me on this... It will take FOREVER to get letters and talk if we do mail. it will take months to get 2 or 3 letters to and from one another. But she can still write some haha if she wants. So.... This next part is for tanner. :)mom... Dont read... I know it is tempting...but dont ;)haha who am I kidding I know you are going to read it anyways.

Well I love you family! :) Talk to you next week.

Love,
